Who is in charge?

February 25, 2010. Today is not a regular working day in our office. Our President gave us a choice to join and commemorate the People Power in Araneta Coliseum or work in the office. Most of us actually choose to be at Araneta and witness how the Aquino supporters remember the people power especially that 2010 elections are coming.

It was around 11:00 am when we set our foot to Araneta. Since the event does not yet start, I and my friends decided to eat our early lunch at Wendys. After we devour our food, we hurried to go to the rest of our office mates and get our tickets. While we were waiting for the event to start, one of our officemates told us that Benj, a good friend of mine, is in the hospital. I asked the reasons for it and they told me that a convulsion happened to him. The way my officemate describe what happened to him makes me worried more about him. It seems a tragic event has just taken place. I actually asked God the reasons why is it happening to a very good friend or why is it happening this time.

There are so many questions running through my head that I suddenly remember that I actually ask those questions to God last Monday. Sometimes, it is just so hard to understand the painful thing that is happening to us; knowing that God is in control over everything.

Last Sunday, the pastor also preached that God is in charge over everything, from government to our personal lives. It is Him who is in control over the pain that I’ve experienced last Monday; it is Him who is in control over a life of a friend; and it is Him who is in control over our country.

Today, as I went to Araneta and experience the people power celebration which is actually a campaign related occasion; I am reminded of two things. The first one is to put our trust and hope to the One who is in charge. And the second one is to always pray for our families, friends, and also for our country, the Philippines.

“For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

God wants me to know in facebook(feb 25,2010):
On this day of your life, Shean, we believe God wants you to know ... that it's time you let go.

Yes, of course, you want to control so everything happens in just the way you want it. But at the end of the day, we control nothing, - it's all in God's hands, - has always been, and will always be. So, do what you can, and then let go, and let God handle the rest.

The long wait will be ended.

I'm just happy!

The first thing we do when we are happy is to share it; that's why I'm going to post it here.
I've just finished the things I needed to do in my work. I just feel I accomplished something very important this week. Although some of them are not yet polished, I'm still happy because I've settled those necessary things. I know that those overtime will be paid off. The thought that I would just polish it on monday excites me more. At last, the long wait of my officemates will be ended next week.

To my teammates, just be patient for a few more days. ^_^

A Valentine blessing: Last Valentines nAPO nila

Panalangin, Awit ng Barkada, Blue jeans, Anna, Pumapatak and ulan, etc.

These are just the few songs that I got to hear live from the famous OPM band, the APO hiking society. I love their songs before I was invited to watch their concert last Saturday at SMX Convention Center. I actually don’t want to go because Yes just invited me a few hours before the concert. Since the tickets are free and Joanna (one of our friends) will also go, then I might go as well. Sabi ko sa sarili ko, minsan lang na magkakasama kaming tatlo, kaya pupunta ako at wala naman akong any reason not to go.

As I went there, I never thought that we will be having the gold tickets, I thought iyong normal lang. But no, Yes gave us the gold tickets while she and her boyfriend use the silver tickets. I don’t know the reason why she gave to us the gold tickets. Whatever her reason for it, I am so thankful that she gave it to us. While watching Boboy, Dan and Jim singing that night, I feel so blessed to be there. I said to God, I never plan for it or anything but this has just been really given to me for free and I am so thankful. I almost cry with the thought of it. I really enjoyed the night na nakikisabay pa ako sa mga kanta nila. It was fun especially on how they entertain us with their jokes and music. We even ask for one last song and gladly pinagbigyan naman kami. Their last song for that night was "Magkayakap sa dilim" dedicated for all the people who are in love that night.

We really enjoyed their concert na even sa pag-uwi nagkaroon kami ng last song syndrome ni Jo. Sabi ko nga, I hope I could have one more chance to watch their concert again. I thank Yes for inviting me to go there. It was a very special valentine's day for me. ^_^

A SWEET NIGHT

After office last friday, I go to to UP and attend the pre-valentine youth service. Love is in the air as I enter the place. Ushers are wearing black and dress, Nomer, Babes and Glenn preach a message about purity and original love songs composed and played by our music place makes me feel that love is just around the corner.
The youth service is not the highlight why it is a sweet night. It was actually the date that I have with ate sharon and some churchmates after youth service. We went to a chocolate buffet:

(LARC-EN-CIEL DE CHOCOLAT: A MASQUERADE OF WAITING)

Feb 12, 2010 8:00 pm College of Home Economics
Rum Chocolate truffles
Fiery Peach squares
Flourless white chocolate cake
English trifle
Tempura Fudge Brownies
White chocolate strawberry shortcake
...And many more

It is indeed a masquerade of waiting; we've wait for almost an hour before we have our turn in the buffet. I know that as an Industrial engineering, waiting is considered as a waste. However, the good thing about waiting that night is it enables me to meet and make friends with new people. I got a chance to tell and hear stories from the people I rarely talk to in the church. I got to know Kuya H, Ate Maan, Ate Aya, Likha, Jon and other youths in our church.

After the long time of waiting, Ate sharon and I got a separate table. We've shared stories while we eat and taste everything in the chocolate buffet.

My favorite among the choices is rum chocolate truffle. I find its taste different among the other chocolates.

I know that the chocolates are sweet but what really makes the night more sweeter is the dinner itself with my sister in Christ. I thank God for a very sweet ate in church.

After one year...

It is almost one year since my last post here.

The reason of not posting? It's because I actually forgot that I have an account here. I just remember this earlier while reading my friend's blog. Yay! If not because of his blog, I might entirely forgot this. Thanks to bottled brain.

Anyways, there are so many things happened to me since my last post.

First, I'm not a student anymore.
Second, I'm already working.
Third, I rarely see my friends because of work.
Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, etc.

And the rest is history.

This is what happens when we do not update our blogs every now and then.

As for me, I just learned a lesson.
So from now on, I have to find a motivation of updating this. I need to have one. Haha.

Until my next post.
